Find out what the class understood, while they are still in the room
Put a question on the board and every student answers from their own phone. See the split as it lands, reveal the answer, and know who needs another pass before the bell. Students join with a code, no accounts.
Free for teachers, no credit card: up to 50 students per session. Or try one live question first: no account, up to five people.
Where a check for understanding goes quiet
Asking the whole class is easy. Hearing from more than the same three hands is the hard part.
The same three hands
The students who are lost are the last to say so. Let them answer where nobody is looking.
Marked tomorrow, too late
A paper exit ticket tells you what they missed after they have gone home. A live check tells you now.
“Create an account to play”
Thirty students signing up for a quiz tool is a lesson lost. A code on the board and they are in.
Quick checks, quizzes and a leaderboard
A starter, a mid-lesson check and a plenary quiz, all run from one screen.
Scored, with a leaderboard
Questions one at a time, marked automatically, with a reveal and a final leaderboard for classes that like to compete.
How quizzes work →Checks for understanding
One multiple-choice question, answered in thirty seconds. A misconception shows up as a bar, not a guess.
How polls work →One word from everyone
Ask it open and the answers build into a word cloud. Anonymous if you want, so the quiet students answer too.
How word clouds work →Results you keep
Every quiz and check exports to CSV or Excel, so the evidence goes into your mark book.
How exports work →Students join once and stay with you
They type the six-character code at app.facilitator-tools.com/join or scan the QR code on the board, and every question after that reaches their phones.
- No student accounts, no app, no email addresses collected
- Up to 50 students per session on the free plan
- Save a lesson as a template and run it again with the next class
Trusted by facilitators like you.
“Facilitator tools is simple yet powerful. I can lead discussions with a room full of people and gain immediate feedback and insights. A lot of tools offer polling, but Facilitator Tools enables me to lead a strategic discussion with as many minds as I can fit in the room.”
Classroom questions, answered
Is it free for teachers?
Yes. The free plan covers polls, word clouds and quizzes for up to 50 students per session, no credit card. See pricing.
Can I see who got what?
In a quiz, each student enters a name when they join, so the leaderboard and the export show who got each question right. Polls and word clouds can be anonymous.
Does it work with my projector or whiteboard?
Yes. The display is a web page, so anything with a browser works. The PowerPoint add-in puts the questions inside your deck.
Your next lesson, with every student answering
