SWOT analysis canvas

A clean, printable SWOT canvas (US Letter, PDF) with facilitation prompts in every quadrant — plus the two tips that stop a SWOT session becoming a group-written wish list.

No signup required — the email is optional.

S — Strengths

W — Weaknesses

O — Opportunities

T — Threats

How to run it

Three steps to a SWOT that isn't a wish list

  • Silent first. Two minutes of individual writing per quadrant before anyone speaks — the loudest voice shouldn't set the frame.
  • Internal vs external. Strengths and weaknesses are things you control; opportunities and threats are things you respond to. Police the boundary.
  • Pair before you leave. Match one strength to one opportunity and one weakness to one threat — that pairing is your strategy conversation.

Prefer it live, with every voice captured and an AI synthesis at the end? SWOT is a built-in activity in Facilitator Tools.

How the live version works
1 Silent writing — all four quadrants
2 Discuss and cluster each quadrant
3 Pair S→O and W→T
4 Agree the three moves that follow
